Silvia Matheus is a Brazilian-born composer and performer working at the intersection of sound, technology, and live performance. Her work integrates fixed media, interactive electronics, and acoustic instruments, often developed through improvisation and collaboration with artists in dance, film, and multimedia performance. She received an MFA in Electronic Music and Recording Media from Mills College and participated in seminars at the Center for New Music and Audio Technologies (CNMAT) at the University of California, Berkeley, studying with David Wessel. Her music has been presented internationally at the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC) and the Kyma International Sound Symposium (KISS). She currently performs with composer Thomas Miley using computer-based and modular electronic systems.
